Equinox King West’s design celebrates the city’s natural beauty colliding in harmony with the modern metropolis where culture and connection come alive. Designed by Toronto-based NIVEK REMAS, the interiors reflect the duality of the Equinox brand, balancing the raw materiality and structural power of Toronto’s brutalist heritage with the elevated elegance and precision synonymous with Equinox.
The design draws deeply from Toronto’s iconic brutalist architecture - its raw textures and monumental forms acting as a grounding framework for spaces that invite both intensity and introspection.
Inspired by the city’s role as a cultural crossroads, the space becomes a place of meeting and movement, infused with calming and welcoming elements that soften its edges, echoing Toronto’s dual identity as both an urban powerhouse and a haven for creativity, wellness, and self-expression.
Inspired by the richness of the city’s landscape, the cultural diversity and history of the city itself, we introduce Equinox as more than a gym but a social club, which symbolizes Toronto as the original “place of meeting” – the hub of commerce, culture, and creativity. Like Toronto and its multifaceted community, our design resists singular definition - it’s an experience as layered and dynamic as the people who move through it.
Rooted in the raw strength of brutalism and elevated by the refinement of Equinox, each space becomes a personal and communal journey - tailored, timeless, and made for those who want it all. Something for everyone. The now generation. For those who want it all.
